Selling my beloved houseboat ‘TUXCAT’ due to moving together with my partner.

TUXCAT is an English narrowboat built by Les Allen in 1985. It is about 15m long and 2 m wide. It is perfect as a houseboat for a single person. I live on it with my two cats. As I plan to move together with my partner, I decided heavy-heartedly to sell my traditional narrowboat.

I brought it from UK to Germany and then to France. Due to its narrow width, I could let it transport via a normal sized lorry. The boat size and the flat bottom base is perfect for cruising in the water canals. Currently it is moored in the Saar-Kanal/ Canal de la Sarre in Sarreguemines. The year-round mooring space is transferable. Also you could let it transport back via lorry to UK.

TUXCAT has all you need to cruise with and to live on the boat. It comes with a bedroom, a bathroom with bathtub and a separating dry toilet, a kitchen with hot water gas heater, mini gas grill and two hot plates, as well as a handy freshwater aluminium tank with filter and a cooling box, the lounge has a multi-fillable (wood and / or coal) oven for the winter, a sofa which can be expanded to a guest bed, the working desk could be taken over too. In 2022 two boat covers (1 front and 1 back exterior cover) where newly made and fitted to protect from rain and wind.

Also, the boat has a water tank of about 900l capacity and a diesel tank of about 200l capacity. There are two solar panels which are covering the electrical needs completely in the summer. There is as well a Victron Energy MultiPlus Compact 230V inverter (2000W) and battery charger as well as a transformer isolator. The boat has a starter battery and three leisure batteries. The motor is a Thornycroft BCM 90 1.5 water cooled Diesel motor with about 36 horsepower. 12V & 240V electrics on board. Last blacked with three layers of bitumen in Mai 2024.

CONSTRUCTION
REFITTED:
- Lower boat part was (flooring and lower wall parts) completely refitted in spring 2023, flooring out of tropical wood
- Blackened - Boat bottom and lower underwater sides - in Mai 2024
- Roof and parts of upper sides newly repainted in June 2024

REGULAR SURVEYS:
- The boat got surveyed in November 2014, March 2019 and in January 2021. All recommendations have been implemented.
- The last English BSS examination was done in summer 2020. A German gas check was done in May 2023.

- 15 m (on wheel) + 35 m (loose with connector) water hose to fill water tank

MOORING SPACE:
The mooring space in Sarreguemines can be taken over. It is a year-round mooring space and is safe from flooding in winter. The city centre is only about 1 km nearby and can be reached via foot by about 15 minutes. Also, there is a supermarket close by within 8 min reach by foot.
