Job Description
I am looking for a carer for an elderly gentleman with a physical disability. I am hoping to
find someone who is reliable, trustworthy and genuinely interested in providing support and
improving client’s quality of life. Assistance is needed with various aspects of daily life in the
household as well as providing companionship and support.
Hours - 8:30am to 12:30pm (Monday to Saturday)
Salary – £13/hr
Location – Lisburn Road, Belfast

Duties of the post
- Personal care: assistance with getting out of bed, showered and dressed in the
morning and toileting throughout the day
- Companionship: provide friendly and engaging companionship, ensuring needs and
preferences are understood and respected
- Domestic tasks: assistance with basic meal preparation e.g. egg and toast for
breakfast, cut fruit for lunch. Assistance with cleaning bedside area, making bed,
laundry and tidying
- Social: assistance with completing basic daily physio exercises, taking outside to sit in
garden
- Assisting with any other tasks that may be reasonably requested

Person Specification
Essential
- Speaks English
- Empathetic with a person-centred approach, offering respect for person being cared
for
- Ability to help with some manual handling (transfers from wheelchair to chair or
bed)
- CV with two references

Desirable
- Non-smoker
- Previous experience in healthcare sector
- Basic cooking skills
