Hi there, I’m Mr Ford.

I’m an experienced maths teacher for all ages but specialising in A-Level Maths and Further Maths for young people aged 16-18.

I’ve been the lead of A-Level Maths and Further Maths for multiple years and have both taught and tutored many students to exceed their target grades and meet their University offers, including Oxbridge.

Tutoring for me is about bringing out confidence in young people to enable them to question themselves and critically analyse their own work. Conjecture is the most important aspect in maths, but is sadly something our young people are not encouraged to explore in many schools, leading to disappointing progress.

How much input you wish to have with the sessions is completely up to you, I’ve had some tutees who have wanted work on specific topics, or acting on some specific school feedback, but arriving to the sessions without any of that is also completely fine. Whatever works for you.

Availability varies but I am currently a full-time teacher so please understand that any weekday times before 4pm are unlikely to work.

My prices are competitive for my experience level and are as follows:

£50/hour A-Level Maths
£50/hour A-Level Further Maths

These prices are for tutoring via Teams, Zoom or other online software. Enhanced DBS available.

Please do get in touch if you are looking for tutoring for specific University entry tests such as STEP, or the MAT, as I’m happy to tutor for these also.
