Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Youth Engagement Officer for a Local Authority Client based in East London.

In this role, you will design, coordinate, and deliver a range of participatory programs and initiatives that empower young people to actively engage in their communities and make their voices heard within the borough.

About the role:

You will be tasked with delivering key strategic objectives:

Develop and coordinate youth engagement programs, such as the Care Council, Young Carers sessions, and Youth Inspections.Deliver group activities, workshops, and events that promote youth participation and leadership.Use youth work principles to empower young people in designing, planning, and evaluating their participation activities.Conduct risk assessments and ensure safe and inclusive environments for all activities.Maintain accurate records of program activities, attendance, and progress towards youth development goals.

About you:

The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:

Experience in developing and delivering youth-focused programs, workshops, or activities.Experience in facilitating group work, personal development activities, and leadership programs for young people.Proven track record of working with young people from diverse backgrounds in a community, school, or youth centre setting.Demonstrated experience advocating for young people's rights, particularly those facing challenges or vulnerabilities.

What's on offer:

Salary: 18+ph

may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience

Contract type: 3-6, months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension

Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
