Our defence client has transformed the market for assured Data at Rest solutions and is rapidly growing its business which means they are looking for a Product Development Engineer to work across multiple Cyber and Information Assurance (IA) development projects.

The Systems Engineer will work on identifying how to apply complex and innovative solutions to real world problems for the development of our unique product range.

The Systems Engineer will play a key role by assuming the overall system engineering and technical lead role on one or more Information Assurance developments. In addition to product development activities, you will also provide technical support to bid proposals.

This involves collaborating closely with sub-system teams to develop technical solutions and ensuring coherency across technical subject areas. IA products comprise Hardware, Software, FPGA and mechanical development.

Responsibilities:

One key part of the role is requirements engineering, where you will take on the challenge to understand and help define the technical content of the solution across all design disciplines.Your technical involvement will cover the whole development lifecycle from initial concept through development and verification.Moreover, you will partner closely with the Technical Project Manager for delivery of the project to time, cost, quality and performance requirements.Experience needed:

Ideally qualified to degree-level or equivalent experience in a Physics or Engineering based subject, such as; Electronics, Hardware, Computer Science, Software or Systems Engineering etc.Experience of the systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements management, system design process and product validation and verificationGood understanding and appreciation of all design disciplines, likely to have expertise in at least one.Ability to produce clear and concise technical documentation.Experience in using DOORs for requirements managementDesirable:

Experience in the Defence / Aerospace or safety regulated environment would be advantageousAbility to handle complexity, uncertainty and competing demandsDemonstrable experience of problem-solving skills.Ability to demonstrate and apply system-level thinkingAbility to spot areas of concern, investigate and drive to a solution - ask the right questions.Experience of system design languages (e.g. UML, SysML), and techniques (e.g. use case analysis, trade studies)Experience in producing estimates for bid activitiesKnowledge of mechanical and environmental qualification processesCompany Overview:
