The role: Strategic Commissioning Consultant

Location: Bedford

Job Type: Full Time Contract

Pay: 500 Per Day

The role:

Lead on the development, implementation and management of the Adults' Service Commissioning Delivery Plan. This will include building on the recommendations identified in a recent review of commissioned services, specifically, but not exclusive:

Create a Commissioning Board with the remit of setting the commissioning priorities, consolidating and overseeing the current workstreams.Establish regular commissioning meeting with commissioning partners from the ICB to identify areas for joint commissioning opportunities.Develop a care home framework/DPS.Work with care providers to refresh Market Position StatementReview approach to market management and fee uplifts, consider the formation of a provider forum(s) and/or other means of have structured and regular communication with the social care market.Support the Commissioning service redesign that builds capacity & capability across the organisation.

Essential skills:

Local authority Adults' Services Head of Service or above, delivering similar commissioning changes.Demonstrable track record of implementing Market Position Statement and pipeline of social care commissioning initiatives.Strong team player with a 'can do' attitude and a practical approach to problem solving, including readiness to pitch in and get the job done.Strong understanding of local authority annual budgeting setting and monitoring processes, commissioning best practice and relevant legislation.Project management experience with the ability to plan activities and monitor outcomes which feed into successful delivery of a wider programme of work.For more information please call Sam on (phone number removed)
