Position: Senior Structural Engineer

Location: Derby

Salary: Up to 55,000

Role Overview:

I am seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join an award winning Civil and Structural Engineering Consultancy based in Derby. This role involves overseeing a range of projects and managing a team of graduate engineers. The ideal candidate will have previous experience with building structures or the nuclear industry where they can demonstrate strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities for this Senior Structural Engineer:

Deliver design work, inspections, and construction site support for major infrastructure projects.Conduct concept and feasibility studies for multidisciplinary design projects.Perform analysis and design using engineering software like Tekla, IDEA StatiCA, and TEDDS, along with hand calculations.Prepare calculations, handle CDM activities, create basis of design documents, material specifications, scopes of work, technical reports, and coordinate interdisciplinary designs.Mentor and support team members to foster their technical and professional growth.Qualifications and Skills for this Senior Structural Engineer:

Degree in Structural Engineering (BEng or MEng)Minimum of 6 years of relevant structural engineering experience.Strong technical design skills with experience in British and international standards, and/or Eurocodes.Demonstrated ability to prepare bids, proposals, and build strong client relationships.Experience in the design of reinforced concrete and steel structures.Familiarity with seismic, dynamic, and extreme environmental loading is advantageous.Experience with BIM packages.Salary and Benefits:
