Role: Senior Accountant

Salary: Up to £35,000

Located: Rotherham

Hours: 37.5 hours per week but flexible working around core hours (10.30am – 4.00pm)

In this role you will be responsible for delivering a first-class service to key clients by providing comprehensive accounts and audit support to a busy accountancy practice.

The business is looking for someone with a strong background working at a similar level within an accountancy practice environment. Ideally you will have excellent experience of Sage 50, Xero, Quickbooks, Iris and Excel.

Key responsibilities:

* Oversee client bookkeeping

* Manage and take responsibility for own portfolio of clients

* Preparation of complex company financial statements

* Preparation of interim management accounts

* Preparation of personal tax returns

* Preparation of partnership accounts and returns

* Review and submit quarterly VAT returns

* VAT Registration and Deregistration

* Forecasts and business projections

* Attend client meetings and interact with directors and business owners

* Train members of staff and allocate duties

* Set and work to budgets to meet monthly forecasts

* Any other general accountancy/administrative work as required

The successful person will:

* Be qualified by experience and/or part-qualified ACA/ACCA.

* Have at least 10 years working in an accountancy practice environment.

* Have excellent experience of Sage 50, Xero, Quickbooks, Iris, Excel (essential), Sage Business Cloud (advantage)

* Have strong Attention to Detail

* Have excellent Time Management Skills

* Have exceptional Communication Skills with a good telephone manner

* Have good written and technical Skills

* Have strong Prioritisation and Organisation Skills

* Ability to Handle Confidential Information
