About this client/child: Zach is and adorable 3-year-old and lives with his Mummy and Daddy in Stanstead Abbots, Ware. He is soon to be a big brother, with the new arrival due in February. Zach and his parents have recently relocated to the area to continue an intensive therapy programme called NAPA which has been transformative for Zach’s overall development, and he will be attending a local nursery part-time. Zach has Dravet Syndrome, a rare form of epilepsy, since starting new medication and following a strict Ketogenic diet, Zach’s seizures have reduced. Seizure protocol and guidance are in place, and full training is provided. Zach is preverbal, and he is working on his communication skills; Makaton or PECs experience is highly desirable. Zach loves sensory play, trips to the park, listening to nursery rhymes and kicking and throwing a ball! Mummy and Daddy are professionals, working full-time, however are always on hand if required.

Overview of role: The SEN Nanny / Manny will support Zach with his NAPA therapy programme, bespoke training is provided, the therapy is implementing in a fun and creative way, giving Zach the opportunity to work on his overall development, self-help, and independence skills. There is a real focus on supporting Zach to reach his full potential and enabling him to experience a toddler’s typical day-to-day life and routine. Part of this role will include batch cooking ketogenic meals, nursery duties and running errands. Additional hours available for babysitting, paid in addition to the salary. Much more information available on application regarding Zach and the role.

Who this job would suit: An experienced SEN Nanny/Manny with a passion for play and keen to learn new skills. The family requires a flexible, enthusiastic, and proactive SEN Nanny/Manny. A non-smoker/vaper is essential, along with a driver with their own car.

What’s great about this job: Working with Zach is of course the best aspect of this role, however, his parents are excellent employers (feedback from current Snap Care SEN Nanny), and will invest in training, and your development to ensure you have the skills to support Zach. Zach’s Mum and Dad are dedicated to giving him the very best opportunities, and you will be an essential part of the team!
