Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Project Accountant to be engaged on a staff basis and located in Barrow with hybrid working.

What you'll be doing:

Responsible for the delivery of all core project accounting deliverables for a major element of the project whilst ensuring effective financial challenge, governance and support to the programme teams.Working with the Project Management Organisation (PMO) lead for your area to deliver robust forecasts into the Monthly Management Reporting (MMR) process and supporting the project teams to ensure financial commitments are met.Working with the Project to ensure quarterly Contract Status Reports are produced, reflecting an accurate financial representation of the programme.Continuous improvement of financial process/practices & governance activities.Managing a team of 2 to 3 Project Accountants, ensuring their continued development.Providing support from a financial perspective for contract management, negotiations, and amendments.Working with the internal and external stakeholders.Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA) or relevant equivalent is essential.Accounting and financial management experience, working in a variety of roles including working within a project finance environment.Thorough knowledge of Financial IT Systems including SAP and MS Excel.Desirable:

Understanding of business and financial modelling experience.Experience of influencing across functions and hierarchies.
