Production Operative, Longport - Stoke on Trent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Operative in our Production team at our Longport depot. Progress Rail - Electro Motive Diesel is a subsidiary of Caterpillar, specialized in manufacturing, maintaining and overhauling diesel-electric locomotives across the world.

As a Production Operative, you will play a key role in supporting the ongoing production and maintenance of our locomotives by providing assistance to the Fitters/Technicians and undertaking various labouring activities.

The role will include:

* Completing different labouring tasks and providing proactive and effective assistance to the team as instructed

* Performing setup and cleanup tasks

* Manual handling and moving of goods and equipment

* Maintaining a safe, tidy and clean work area

* Acting as a role model of Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental Policies

* Occasional travel to other sites and suppliers

What we would love you to bring to the role:

To be successful in this role you will be energetic and willing to take on different tasks as required. You will be proactive in spotting opportunities to help and bring a positive attitude to your work, learning and development. A good level of physical fitness is required for the demands of this job. You will be a confident communicator and able to build effective Caterpillar relationships with colleagues. Fork-lift truck licence and full UK driving licence is required. You'll need to be based close to our Longport depot and have a valid right to work in the UK.
