I have started working on a new role with a reputable Manufacturing/Engineering business in the Horwich area and am looking for a Procurement Manager.

Business Overview:

An incredibly established, family owned and run business on a fantastic site steeped in history with a healthy range of bespoke products in their portfolio. Their products are well–renowned for their build quality and aftersales service is second to none.

You will work on a couple of very exciting projects early on which will also include an MRP implementation which has come on the back of significant investment.

Job Overview: Purchasing Manager

Purpose of the role:

To assist with the development of the Purchasing strategy including implementation of the ERP System and generate savings and rationalize the areas of the supply chain whilst continually carrying out market research for improvements in supply, service, reduced cost and improved quality/delivery.

Responsibilities:

To be responsible for the procurement and supply of raw materials and services within the Company including setting, planning, organizing and executing the Purchasing strategy, incorporating best commercial practice whilst adhering to agreed spending controls. To lead, manage and motivate the Purchasing Team whilst at the same time setting and monitoring individual targets. To delegate to team members to enable focus to be given to future Purchasing Policy and review. To manage and oversee the Purchasing Team s management of suppliers, relationships, and service level agreements Together with Research & Design, reduce process costs through re–design/rationalization and by making best use of technology/innovative contractual arrangements. Work alongside the Finance Team to review and maintain all input costs within area of responsibility. To effectively and proactively liaise with other Departments as necessary to forecast, plan and deliver demand in relevant quality and quantities in required timeframe. To recommend to the Sales Team, the introduction of new factored products, presenting high margin opportunities for business growth and development within the retail outlets. To be responsible for the negotiating, administrating and controlling purchasing contracts. To control supplier payment terms by negotiation and clear management. To be responsible for make or buy policy analysis and presentation of clear recommendations to the Managing Director. To be responsible for cost saving budgeting and targeting to monitor and prove drop–through. To be responsible for administration and reporting as necessary with regard to routing management information on purchasing performance. Control outsourcing strategy/development/management if required. To be responsible for stock and materials management via the ERP System. To ensure health and safety compliance within given area of responsibility. To keep up–to–date with international trading issues/imports/legal, awareness and management. To perform any other duties deemed reasonable on request. Experience:

Proven experience in Procurement/Buying/Supply Chain Management. Previous experience in an Engineering or Manufacturing environment where you are working to Technical Drawings would be highly advantageous. Demonstrated management, supervisory or leadership experience. CIPS qualification and/or significant Supply Chain management experience would be highly advantageous. Track record of delivering target improvements, ERP Implementation, cost savings, process enhancements, and aligning strategic plans.

This role will pay GBP50k–GBP55k, working hours will be Monday–Thursday 8:30am–5pm, Friday 8:30am–2:30pm, further package information to be discussed on application.
