No weekends Hourly pay rate: £12.75 rising to £13.75 following a months probation/trial This role involves supporting a 33 year old man who has a great sense of humour with all aspects of his day to day care. This individual you will be supporting has quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy with communication difficulties, however he has total understanding and is very helpful. He communicates via a communication device that is worked by his eyes. He has an interest in comedies and music. The successful applicant will be comfortable with providing personal care and will be comfortable working in a household with a dog. Duties include: Medication prompting/administering Personal grooming Eating and drinking assistance Moving and handling Clinical tasks Other relevant duties as required Administration Housekeeping Shopping Cooking Companionship Looking after pets Dressing / undressing Candidate qualities: Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality Reliable with good timekeeping Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative Hygienic, tidy and well organised Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills Honest and cheerful Creative Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard Must be comfortable with pets Able to always work to high standards of health & safety We have a dog and so must be happy with animals. Notes: All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required.
