Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated MOT Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and a passion for ensuring vehicles meet safety and environmental standards. As an MOT Tester, you will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections on various types of vehicles, diagnosing issues, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive MOT tests on vehicles in accordance with legal requirements and company standards.
Perform inspections of vehicle components including brakes, lights, steering, suspension, and exhaust systems.
Use hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out repairs or adjustments as necessary.
Identify faults or defects in vehicles and provide detailed reports on findings.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and any work carried out.
Ensure the workshop is kept clean and organised at all times to promote a safe working environment.
Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of testing and repairs.

Qualifications

Proven experience as an MOT Tester or in a similar mechanical role is highly desirable.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose vehicle issues accurately.
Proficient in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Ability to perform heavy lifting when required during inspections or repairs.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
A valid MOT testing licence is essential for this role.
Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.

Pay: £30,750.00-£36,000 per year (negotiable depending on qualifications and experience)
