Meter Reader Operatives

Our client is looking for a number of temporary to permanent meter readers, In this role, you'll use your own vehicle to visit both residential and commercial locations within your designated area.

Your responsibilities will include;

• Driving to a designated area local to you

• Knocking on doors and being customer service friendly, making them aware your checking Meter Readings.

• Obtaining utility meter readings at residential/commercial properties

• Conducting visual inspections of metering equipment

• Recording data through our client’s mobile/tablet app

• Move to the next location and repeat process

This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy meeting new people and are comfortable engaging with customers. Our client provides comprehensive training, along with regular inductions held across the country, to ensure you're well-prepared for the role.

The Essentials: (MUST HAVE)

• Driving Licence, entitling you to drive in the UK - with no more than 6 points.

• Use of your own vehicle with business insurance and current MOT.

• Must be able to pass a basic DBS check.

• 3 years referencing

• (NEEDED ASAP – NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!)

The Company:

• Our client is dedicated to owning & managing essential energy infrastructure assets that promote smarter energy solutions for all. Through their services in smart metering, installation, data services, EV charging infrastructure, and the electrification of heat, they are driving the transition toward a more sustainable future.

Salary: £12.00 per hour + bonuses (OTE: £32,000 pa – with bonus earnings)

Bonus Points system: Can earn up to £500pm

Location: Shrewsbury

Working Week: Monday to Friday – 37.5 hrs per week – between 8am-8pm

Overtime: Available on weekends – paid at flat rate £12.00ph

Duration: Temp to Perm after 15 weeks assignment (if performing to standards)

Mileage reimbursement: 30.5p per mile
