Metallurgical Quality Engineer

£28,000 - £35,000

Permanent Opportunity

Metalis are seeking a Metallurgical Quality Controller to ensure the quality and safety of our clients metallurgical processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metallurgy and quality inspection and have a keen eye for details when completing documentation and recording processes.

Duties and responsibilities:

Perform quality control inspections on metallurgical processes to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards

Use testing equipment and techniques to analyze the properties of metals and alloys

Develop and maintain quality control procedures and documentation

Investigate and address any quality or safety issues that arise during production

Collaborate with production and engineering teams to implement improvements to processes and materials

Communicate with internal and external stakeholders regarding quality and safety issues and solutions

Key Areas

Be a technical point of contact for all queries relating to quality and safety.

Accountable for the success of production line reducing NCRs.

Communicate clearly with all areas of the business in particular the proofing team.

Job Requirements

Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field

Proven experience in quality control and health and safety in a metallurgical or related environment

Strong knowledge of metallurgical processes, materials, and testing methods

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Strong attention to detail and commitment to upholding quality and safety standards
