Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a MEH Engineer with a background in nuclear or defence, to be engaged on a staff basis and located in Bridgwater.

The successful candidates will be expected to have knowledge and experience in several of the following areas:

Design and assembly of rotating equipment (pumps, motors, etc.) and valves.Design and assembly of tanks.Design and assembly of Heat exchangers and associated regulation and security valves systems.Piping design and erectionWeldingDesign and assembly of Dedicated I&C of complex systems.Power supply design and assemblyQualifications:

Degree or higher degree in relevant disciplineRegistered member of a relevant professional institute or qualifications and experience suitable to lead to membershipExperience in highly regulated environment e.g. nuclear, aircraft, petrochemical etc.Experience of working in the design and maintenance of heavy mechanical power generation equipmentExperience in the development of mechanical related safety casesExperience in liaising with the HSE Nuclear Directorate or other regulatory bodyExcellent organisational skillsUnderstanding of Quality Assurance in a highly regulated environmentDecision making capability for resolution of safety case issuesExcellent communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers
