Machine Operator (Lamination) - Manufacturing

Are you a safety-driven individual with a passion for manufacturing? Do you have experience operating machinery and following production plans? Our client, a leading manufacturing organisation, is seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join their dynamic production team in Slough, UK.

As a Machine Operator, you will play a crucial role in running and maintaining various machines allocated by the shift supervisor. Your primary responsibilities will include operating machinery efficiently and safely, following production plans, and ensuring adherence to quality and safety procedures. You will be responsible for the professional set-up, operation, and monitoring of the laminating machine for the production of multi-layer composites. In addition, you will assist in the slitting of materials and support cross-training of other team members.

To succeed in this role, you must have a safety-driven mindset and be motivated and confident in your abilities. Basic numeric and literacy skills are essential for accurate data recording. You should also have the physical capability to handle heavy equipment and use electric pump trucks and forklifts. The ability to read and understand production plans and follow Standard Operating Procedures is critical. Basic computer knowledge is required, and proficiency in English is necessary for effective communication.

Key Responsibilities:

* Operate machinery efficiently and safely, adhering to quality and safety procedures.

* Set up, operate, and monitor the laminating machine for multi-layer composite production.

* Follow production plans and Standard Operating Procedures.

* Maintain a clean and tidy work area.

* Support cross-training initiatives.

Essential Skills:

* Safety-driven mindset.

* Understanding of Quality Systems (advantageous).

* Basic numeracy and literacy skills.

* Proficiency in using electric pump trucks and forklifts.

* Ability to handle heavy equipment.

* Ability to read, understand, and follow production plans and procedures.

* Basic computer knowledge.

* Effective communication skills in English.

Benefits

* £15.30 - £17.29 - depending on experience & includes shift allowance

* 42.5 hours week, paid 42.5 hours (lunch is paid)

* 3 rotating shifts Mon-Fri 05:45 - 14:15, 13:45 - 22:15, 21:45 - 06:15 OR Mon - Wed - 18.00 - 06.00, Monday - Thursday 06.00 - 18.00, depending on the business need.

* 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (pro rata for 2024)

Work Schedule: 3-rotation or 2-rotation shift patterns, including the possibility of overtime.
