THE COMPANY

A SHADE ABOVE (www.ashadeabove.co.uk) is a bespoke handmade lampshade manufacturer supplying to the interior design, hotel and lighting industries.

This is a great opportunity to work in a lively, fun and creative team, focussing on making beautiful shades for beautiful spaces. As a family-founded, friendly company at the top of a niche industry, there is lots of potential for development and as we are a bespoke studio there is always something different on the work bench!

THE ROLE: FREELANCE MIXED-TEAM LAMPSHADE MAKER

You would be working across two or three teams building, sewing and finishing lampshades by hand using mainly fabric and PVC/board. Lampshade specific training will be given of course. We are looking for a team player who is an inquisitive quick learner, happy in a production environment and committed to a methodical approach to learning the fine detail.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- background in crafting or making

- experience working with fabrics, textiles or other material

- used to working in a production/commercial environment

- confident in producing products to a high level with real attention to detail

- outcome focussed

- team worker
