THE ROLE
As an Income Recovery Officer, you will be joining an Income Team within a Housing Association based in Sevenoaks, and will be responsible for maximising income recovery efforts across all tenures, ensuring tenancy sustainment, and managing arrears cases through to completion. Key responsibilities include:
Prompt recovery of rent arrears and other debts across general needs, shared ownership, and supported tenanciesManaging rent accounts and providing tailored support for tenants to sustain tenanciesCommunicating with tenants through calls, letters, home visits, and unannounced visits to resolve arrears casesRepresenting West Kent Housing in Court proceedings, including preparing legal documents and statementsServing Notices of Seeking Possession and representing cases with a high level of accuracySupporting tenants with benefit advice and providing referrals for additional support servicesConsistently achieving KPI targets to reduce arrears percentagesTHE CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar income recovery or housing role, with a focus on delivering outstanding customer service and meeting challenging targets. Additional requirements include:
Proven track record in effective income recovery and arrears managementExperience in court representation and legal process managementStrong communication skills for tenant outreach and negotiationAbility to perform home visits and maintain professional boundariesUnderstanding of welfare benefits and referral processesTHE CONTRACT
3 months, with the potential for extension
The pay range for the role is 20.00 to 22.00 per hour LTD company rate. The PAYE equivalent is 17.05 to 18.76 per hour, inclusive of holiday.
