Trainee Finance Assistant, full time £22,000 - £26,000 - lots of training - ideally someone with 6 months basic finance experience

Wallingford - office based role

Are you looking for a finance role that will offer you training to kick start your career in Accountancy?

Our client based in Wallingford, are looking for a Trainee Finance Assistant to join their busy, fun and lively team. The Trainee Finance Assistant will be working alongside the Finance Manager and two other members of the finance team as well a wider team of 20. You will play a key part in all aspects in accounting, ideally you will have some finance experience, but full training will be offered. The Finance Assistant will need to have an excellent telephone manner, able to work to deadlines and excellent computer skills.

Key Responsibilities - after training

* Processing of supplier invoices on Xero

* Reconciliation of invoice queries

* Preparation of supplier payment runs

* Chasing suppliers for invoices against pro formas

* Reconciliation of supplier statements

* Processing of employee expenses to meet payroll deadlines

* Becoming familiar with costing and accounting (Xero) systems

* Management of company credit card

* Monthly management of transport costs

* All aspects of banking, to include but not limited to bank reconciliation, posting of entries, square charges

Experience

* Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills

* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

* Good communication skills, both written and verbal as you would be dealing with but limited to customers, suppliers, staff of all levels

* A willingness to learn and adapt is highly valued

* Previous experience in a finance or accounting role is a advantage but not essential
