Clarkson Evans is the largest electrical and solar installer working in the new build housing sector, wiring over 24,000 homes a year. We need electricians to inspire, train, and nurture the talent of the future working at our award–winning in–house training centre.

Current Opportunities

We are currently recruiting for the following roles at our training centres, which can be standalone or combined positions:

NICEIC Domestic Ventilation Trainer Electrical Lecturers, Assessors, and Trainers Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS)Trainers Solar PV Trainer

We will provide on–the–job training and fund your teaching qualifications and you ll be mentored by existing members of the team, most of whom joined us straight off the tools for a change in career direction.

Although our training team is primarily based in Gloucester, we deliver apprentice training nationwide. Therefore, applicants for the lecturer or assessor role could either be based in Gloucester or within commutable distance of our training hubs in Bracknell, Birmingham or Exeter.

For electricians new to teaching or assessing, the salary will start at GBP32,000, increasing over time as teaching/assessing qualifications and experience are gained. A welcome bonus will also be payable in two parts: GBP1,500 after successful completion of a six–month probation period and a further GBP1, months after joining.

Flexible working hours are available for this role with both full and part–time candidates considered.

The safeguarding of our apprentices is of paramount importance to us and therefore all candidates must provide 2 references. Successful applicants with need to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as the Criminal Records Bureau) check before taking up the position.

Requirements

Applicants must be fully qualified electricians with at least three years electrical experience Full driving licence Good IT skills A people person who communicates well and naturally belongs in a people–focused role Upbeat personality and positive outlook that encourages enthusiasm in others Flexibility and adaptability when plans need to change at short notice Approachability combined with the professionalism and credibility that make a good teacher Appreciation of the bigger picture , including the need to operate productively and meet deadlines whilst maintaining high standards of teaching
