As a Cybersecurity Researcher you'll make, break and assure systems across a wide variety of projects. You'll enjoy researching and characterising systems and technologies to understand how they work and will use your expertise to discover weaknesses and vulnerabilities in system design and implementation in order to provide technical guidance to Roke's National Security customers.

There are multiple roles available depending on your experience with the ability to either provide development or step into a leadership position in a rapidly growing area of Roke's National Security business.

The Key Requirements

Experience with some of the below:Malware or firmware analysis and reverse engineeringVulnerability analysis and/or exploit developmentSystems engineering and security modelsNetwork architectures, protocol analysis or binary file format engineeringProcessor architectures (x86-64 and ARM), operating systems and/or firmware internals.The types of tools, techniques and technologies you will have used might include:IDA Pro or GhidraDebugging with gdb, binary exploitation and code injectionProgramming, prototyping or tool-making; for example, using Python, C or bashProtocol analysis using Wireshark or fuzzing with AFL.Built over a 60-year heritage, Roke offers specialist knowledge in sensors, communications, cyber, and AI and ML. You'll find our Romsey site located within beautiful Hampshire countryside, close to the picturesque New Forest District and not far from a superb stretch of the south coast. Due to the nature of this role, we require you to be eligible to achieve DV clearance. As a result, you should be a British Citizen and have resided in the U.K. for the last 10 years.
