Our client based in Chorley is looking for an experienced CNC Programmer/Setter on a permanent basis, the client is a well-respected manufacturer who has experience programming and setting up CNC machines to complete existing and new product samples.

The Job

* Programming using Fanuc Controls and setting up a Hurco CNC Machines to complete new product/different functions

* Change the tooling of the CNC machine

* Observe machine operation to verify accuracy of machine settings and to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometer and vernier calliper.

* Adjust machine control, including part process

* Verify “first piece inspection” using appropriate measuring instruments

* Generally, monitor the work being undertaken and completed, testing and taking agreed critical measurements to identify problems and the need for adjustment etc and to immediately make any adjustments as necessary.

* Varied manual machining and finishing tasks on range of components

About You

* To have an engineering background and role with a minimum experience of 2 years

* Experience using Fanuc Controls

* Ability to read and interpret component and assembly drawings.

* Have experience inspecting products

* Have experience inspecting production

* Experience with production process evaluation and improvement

* Ideally will have knowledge of machined and fabricated parts

* To have good IT/Computer skills

* Able to communicate effectively at all levels within the company

* Be able to work under their own initiative
