Clinical or Counselling Psychologist - CAMHS Hospital

Salary: GBP50,895 - GBP56,267 per annum

Location: Stafford, Staffordshire

Hours: Full-Time - 37.5 hours

Overview / Summary

Appoint Healthcare is partnering with a leading national provider of health and social care services for young people and adults with neurological, mental health, and learning disabilities. We are currently recruiting a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist for our 37-bed specialist hospital in Stafford, dedicated to children and adolescents with complex mental health needs requiring intensive inpatient treatment.

As part of the Mental Health Network and a key partner in the West Midlands CAMHS Provider Collaborative, led by Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust, we are committed to the highest standards of care.

We use a clinically-led, person-centered model of care designed with input from a range of experts and feedback from our young people and families, incorporating evidence-based practices tailored to individual needs.

Our hospital includes an Ofsted-registered school, ensuring continuity of education. The facility comprises three specialised units, each supported by a dedicated, consultant-led multi-disciplinary team:

Eating Disorders Service

Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit

General Adolescent Service

Role Overview / Key Responsibilities

Ensure safety, protect human rights, and assess patients' behaviours and treatment needs.

Develop and deliver evidence-based individual and group treatment to reduce problematic behaviors.

Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment programs.

Guide and support colleagues in implementing clinical psychology interventions.

Uphold security protocols, continuously assess and manage risks.

Maintain CPD as an HCPC-Registered Clinical Psychologist, ensuring competency in psychological and risk assessments.

Build and sustain positive relationships with colleagues, visitors, and carers.

Requirements

HCPC registration

BPS membership

Previous experience within a CAMHS setting

Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS.
