The Market Coffee House & Bar is a small, family-run cafe, restaurant and bar in a prime location just off Spitalfields Market. We serve high quality wine and belgian beer alongside a carefully sourced, seasonal menu.

We are looking for an applicant that is enthusiastic, professional and most importantly prides themselves on their attention to detail.

The Kitchen is responsible for breakfast, lunch and dinner services, and for catering for our studio and private dining functions upstairs at The Market Coffee House & Bar.

The team here are dynamic, and work together to create a really friendly experience in a welcoming environment. We want to create a place where differences of all kinds are celebrated to create a diverse workforce.

We are looking for someone who can:

- be reliable, trustworthy and punctual

- run a busy and fast paced service

- manage and maintain performance amongst kitchen staff, including line cooking, food preparation and plating

- adhere to all Health and Safety procedures

- develop a full understanding of the menu, and lend ideas toward its development

- be flexible, it may be required to manage and perform on junior sections

- maintain quality and portion control on all dishes

- maintain and take care of equipment

- adhere to strict standards of food labelling and storage

- monitor food stocks and place orders and recieve, check and stow away deliveries

- keep closing and opening sections to specification

- record wastage

- maintain a high standard of accident reporting and RIDDOR
