I’m looking for a caring, patient and reliable carer/personal assistant. I’m a woman in her late 40s, a wheelchair user and I work full-time. I’m paralysed from the neck down so I need assistance with most tasks and I employ a team of carers/PAs to enable me to live independently. The job involves personal care (eg helping to get me up, put me to bed, toileting), preparing food and feeding, general housework, shopping, typing emails and texts, and accompanying me on trips out, among other things. There is moving and handling involved so you need to be physically robust. I have two carers/PAs with me during daytime hours so you will have plenty of breaks.

Start date: As soon as possible

Hours:

I have 2 permanent night shifts to offer:

Tuesdays 6pm to Wednesdays 8.45am.

Wednesdays 10.15pm to Thursdays 8.45am.

If you’re not able to start at 6pm on Wednesdays, a slightly later start time might be possible.

The number of times I need help during the night varies but it is typically about 2-3 times. You should be able to gain some sleep.

Pay: £353.50 gross per week (£14 per hour).

Now and again you may have the chance to earn extra pay by covering other PAs’ leave.

Annual leave: You will be entitled to 4 weeks paid holiday per year. You can also take an extra week of unpaid leave if you need it. There may also be other days when you are not needed but you will still be paid.
