Senior Bridging Underwriter / Head of Underwriter:- Brand New Bridging Lender

Manchester

Up to 55,000 + Bonuses + 3 days working from home - 9am - 5pm Hours

We have a wonderful Lender based in Manchester who is looking for an experienced Bridging Finance Underwriter to come in and Manage a team of 2 underwriters and 2 case managers,

You will be responsible for processing bridging finance applications. The Underwriter must work together with the other members of the Underwriting team to ensure that loans are processed in accordance with the underwriting manual and lending policy. The Underwriter must use their skill and experience to approve those loans which are deemed acceptable and reject any which do not meet the criteria or where the Underwriter does not believe the borrower will be able to repay.

Key Responsibilities for the Senior Bridging Underwriter / Head of Underwriter:

Manage a pipeline of bridging cases and prioritise accordingly Managing a team of 4 Underwrite bridging loan applications within company lending criteria by making quality lending decisions Be vigilant when working on cases and refer where necessary to the appropriate person Maintain a high level of communication at all times with interested parties including brokers, applicants, surveyors and solicitors Maintain a high level of customer service with those internally and externally Work closely with other departments within the company including sales, compliance, finance and collections Think outside the box and be proactive when suggesting ways to overcome potential problems, whilst ensuring that there is no additional risk to the company Maintain oversight of a loan post completion and follow up on any offer conditions prior to handing the loan to collections keep up to date with current best practice and regulatory requirements keep all records up to date Represent the company at events as required
