We are a friendly family, based in East Lothian, looking for a part-time, live-out, nanny to care for our happy 7- and 12-year-old children. During school time, hours are 10.5 per week (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 3-6.30pm). School holiday cover would be preferred. There is the opportunity for ad-hoc overtime for weekend babysitting. This is a salaried role with paid holiday and sick leave, and tax, NI, and pension (where relevant). Rate of pay is £13.00 per hour. We will provide a coffee and outings allowance on top of hourly rate.

You must be caring, trustworthy, and reliable. You will need to nurture our children, keep them safe, and make their days fun within a structured, creative, and secure environment. They are great kids who enjoy lots of different activities: playing outside, reading, crafts, drama, and sports. We are looking for someone who is resourceful, has excellent time management, and has a great sense of humour.

Your key duties will involve picking up our children from school, taking them to various after school activities, supervising and helping with homework, and making healthy meals and snacks. We also need general light touch housekeeping which would include keeping rooms tidy and clean, keeping children’s things in order, washing up, loading and emptying the dishwasher, cleaning the floor, and general tidying up.

You must be able to drive and have a clean driving license. You will be a non-smoker, have good English, be energetic and practical, have previous experience of working with children, and good references. You will be required to complete a Disclosure Scotland/PVG check (this cost is covered by us).
