A bit of a long shot, but as the expression goes ,if you don't ask you don't get.
My son has Autism and is looking for a job in a garage ,ideally a smallish local garage would be ideal rather than the hustle and bustle of a main dealership.
He does have a full car licence and a car so can travel ,but would still prefer it to be reasonably local - Crewe, Nantwich ,Sandbach or surrounding areas if possible.
He has an NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance , but would still need some encouragement just to make sure he's doing things right due to his Autism although he has got experience doing services and brakes and tyre changes and repairs and doing health checks on vehicles.
He does have some of his own tools which he bought with his wages when he was at a garage until recently when they decided that they were over staffed.
Some job adverts specify must have a minimum of 2 years experience in a garage, which he hasn't got as he can't get that experience unless somebody will give him that oportunity.
Other job adverts specify must have good communication skills. He will talk to people once he feels relaxed and confident around them which again is why a small garage would be better for him so there's not loads of different people around, but everybody that works in a garage all have the same common interest so he will talk to people once he feels comfortable around them
Jobs at main dealerships say that they will send people away on training courses which is not something that he would do ,so it is hopefully a case of finding him somewhere in a smallish, local garage.
So if anybody is willing to give him that chance or knows of anyone that would be willing to give him that opportunity he/we would be extremely grateful .
Please message me if anybody can help.
Thank you
