Vintage wooden Korean Bandaji (Blanket) chest that was used to store clothing, valuables and documents at the bottom and bedding on top. The chest has a drop front and is embellished with brass trim and mounted with brass fittings - handles, hinges and lock plate with fish-shaped padlock. Chests were usually lined with paper, in this case relined at some stage with newspaper, to prevent contents snagging on wood.

The chest is a decorative piece and with its drop front could double as a storage chest/console table or storage chest/side table with lamp mongt other things.

Good condition commensurate with age.
