Hand made in Manchester by the Gordon Smith Guitar company, I’ve had this guitar since it was new (I bought it in 1984).

It’s a substantial guitar (10.3lbs), made from Brazilian mahogany, it has two hand wound GS pickups with coil taps, three way selector, Schaller tuning heads and fixed bridge and is all original, with the exception of the fixed bridge (which replaced a ‘quirky’ trem unit) and the selector switch which I remember having replaced in the 90s as the old one began to fail.

A couple of years ago I had it professionally serviced where the frets were dressed and the neck adjusted resulting in it playing flawlessly with a medium to low action.

For an older guitar it’s in excellent condition, a few minor superficial scrapes and bumps (see pictures) but all in excellent working and gigging order.

As a anyone might imagine, this guitar has meant a lot to me over the years, however as the bands I’ve been in for about the last 30 years have all been ‘strat or tele’ oriented, the GS hasn’t seen much use and has mostly languished in its case during that time - which seems a shame.

I stay in Gullane, East Lothian and would prefer that the buyer collects, as I’d rather they tried the guitar out and were happy with it.
