A nice piece of a solid Silver Ingot with Assay Marks stamped onto one side. Designed to be worn on a chain around the neck, hence the silver loop at the top. The Assay markings are thus:- RC depicts the Maker, which is:- R Carr Ltd. The Rose: Shows that it was made in Sheffield. The Lion Passant: indicates the purity of the silver – generally .925 The marking C: Tells you the date made - (1977) The Queen's head mark was used as a special commemorative mark in 1977 to celebrate the 25th anniversary.
