Refurbished, iconic Muddy Fox Explorer from 1989.

Those early mountain bikes were made by Araya in Japan (still has sticker in Japanese) and were so popular back in the day in the British market. Now good examples like this are very sough after. Iconic bikes.

This example has been refurbished and looks and rides fantastic. It has had a set of Schwalbe Billy Bonkers tyres with tan wall to match that original retro looks, and an hybrid tread that is good for road and off-road excursions. Pedals are upgraded, big platform Cannondale ones, plus riveted saddle and grips in yellow, matching with the logo colours.

It looks amazing as you see, proper retro, but the ride is excellent too. Sure footed, excellent handling, and the wide tyres eat potholes for breakfast. Super fun to ride.

It has been fully serviced including: new tyres, new saddle, new grips, new chain, new cables, new brake pads, new bearings in headset, bottom bracket and front/rear hubs. All works and it is ready to go.

It has obviously a few imperfections as normal in a 35 year old bike. Paint chips, rust spots, scratches, etc. Nothing major, all commensurate with age. It has seen life and it is proud rather than ashamed of its life marks.

Overall, if you want a super cool bike from the early days of MTB, refurbished with a street riding touch, looking great and colourful, and at the same time a versatile ride that is comfortable and suitable for on and off the road, this is perfect. Those are becoming hard to find!
