Glasgow art-rock band How to Swim are looking for a new keys player for live gigs, festival performances, music videos and recording. We've got a new record coming out this year and another in the spring of 2025, so it's a fairly busy time for us.

Looking for someone who knows their onions but is equally happy bashing the same chord for a whole song like their life depended on it (think the Stooges' I Wanna Be Your Dog or something). Some of the new stuff is more complex piano-wise (think Boatman's Call-era Nick Cave), so we'd be looking for someone with sufficient chops, but we'd definitely take a decent pianist with good energy and stage presence over a jazz prodigy who looks bored the whole time.

We rehearse every Monday night in the centre of Glasgow so we'd need someone able to make that slot - and someone with their own stage keyboard, naturally. Our next show is December 20th so we'd be looking to get a new player up to speed fairly quickly.

How to Swim have been performing since 2000 in one form or another (full back catalogue on spotify), and we're ambitious that good things will happen in the next wee while, but it probably doesn't need to be mentioned that this ain't much of an earner for any of us, so this obviously isn't a paid position.
