Looking for a guitarist. Like the idea of taking a riff and deconstructing it and playing across 2 guitars (I’m also a guitarist). Be nice if you can play a bit but getting the right idea for the song is more important than who plays what/the most, etc. Not particularly interested in solos but I do them now and again, feel free to do the same. If it makes the music more exciting, great. Otherwise don’t bother. Keep it lean, strip the fat.
I like to use odd sounds, just whatever noise I can make into an engaging riff, motif. Music that is quite on the edge, pushing harmony, stretching it til it barely works. If we’ve a good groove and a good melody/lyric we can get away with a lot of wilder stuff when there’s space for it.
I like the confrontational and nonconformist nature of what punk was, it was a broad church and very accepting. It doesn’t feel that way now.
I’m middle aged and I’ve got a family. Saying that now as I’ve met plenty of ‘musicians’ who are more interested in what you look like, who you follow, your age, what you wear, instead of what you sound like. These lot are posing tw*ts who will likely make the most banal music possible. Needless to say, I’m even less interested in them than they are in me.
Other than that, I’m very welcoming to any gender, race, religion, identity, politics (no authoritarians, please).
Just have a good ear and the determination it takes to make it work.

Fond of Sonic Youth, Jehu, Fugazi, Bad Brains, Swans, Shellac, Wire, Wipers, This Heat, Neon Christ, The Stalin, Pixies, Tropical Trash, Stian Westerhus, Black Flag, SmtB and many others.
Live in SW London.
