With us here at RFH Classics we bring you this 1977 (S) MGB Roadster, beautifully finished in the striking Damask Red and retaining its original period correct deck chair style cloth interior, a rare feature to find in such pristine condition. This well-preserved example comes from long-term ownership with the previous owner having owned the car for the past 25 years, acquiring it in 1999 and only having had four former keepers. This MGB has clearly been well maintained and comes with excellent panel alignment and a deep, lustrous paint finish that pairs well with the original black rubber bumpers. A front chin spoiler enhances the cars stance, giving it a subtle yet confident road presence. On arrival as the car had been in dry storage for several years, we carried out a refresh to ensure it is in top condition for its next owner. We have fitted a new good quality carpet and matched this to a new set in the boot as well as fitting new leather trims to the centre storage box, gear stick, and handbrake gaiter to complement the tidy, well-presented interior. The cars cabin is protected by a well fitting black vinyl roof with an opening rear window, ideal for improved ventilation on warmer days.
Under the bonnet is the robust 1798cc 4 cylinder engine which has just undergone a full service. The car is now ready for the road having passed a fresh MOT with a valid certificate until August 2025. While refreshing the car have cleaned up the suspension and treated it with a rust inhibitor, ensuring longevity. As a late rubber bumper model, this MGB comes equipped with a 4-speed manual gearbox featuring switchable overdrive for 3rd and 4th gears, all functioning perfectly. The engine starts smoothly, even from cold with a strong oil pressure at 55 psi. Finally to enhance the cars look and driving dynamics we have replaced the original Rostyle wheels with brand new Minilite-style alloy wheels fitted with matching Toyo tyres. The bumpers are virtually unmarked and there is a safety bar for additional protection. Accompanying the car is a comprehensive history file, including MOT certificates and service records dating back to 1999. Overall, this 1977 MGB Roadster presents a fantastic opportunity for any classic car enthusiast. Well cared for, sympathetically refreshed, and ready to be enjoyed, it is sure to impress upon viewing.
