This is a bit special for a MGB - There is a huge history file showing a massive rebuild spanning from the mid 80's to the mid 90's. The file is so extensive you have to understand that much more was spent than the car would have been worth back then and even now! Cosmetically, back then the car benefitted from a full strip down with new wings, inner wings, sills, inner sills and lower rear quarters plus more before being painted gloss black. The interior was fully re trimmed with new black leather, carpets and new Britax inertia reel seatbelts. Mechanically, according to the history file, the engine is now a 1,950cc Stage 2 unit with manual overdrive gearbox and on the road you soon note the benefits. Much expense was lavished on making the car handle as well as it went too - the suspension was converted with a Ron Hopkinson Advanced Telescopic Handling Package with the rear also benefitting a Bilstein suspension kit with anti roll bar and a Rear Spring Wind Up Suppressor kit. The engine had it's running in service in June 1994 with the mileage recorded at 68,123 the mileage is now just over 72,000. The car still remains in a great condition due no doubt to the quality of the older restoration. We recently fitted a new soft top and blasted/painted the hood frame due to a mishap with the battery a few years ago. We have also fully re commissioned and serviced the car and have fitted a full set (5) of 185/70/14 Michelin tyres to the newly re furbished spoked wheels.
