Sold new in the Reading area on the 2nd October 1970 and finished in Snowberry White, with Black seats, door cards and carpets we're delighted to offer this charming Morris Minor Traveller, having come to us recently from a gent who was thinning his eclection collection of classics, having owned her for the last 4 years, the car having just 4 previous keepers
A tour of the Traveller suggests she has been subject to an older body restoration, we'd estimate in the last 10-20 years, with just 10k miles driven since 2004 and now showing just 74k miles (unwarranted). A little gem of a classic, we're known to source some of the finest / concours examples and take great pride in our detailed and accurate descriptions, she does present very well indeed, save for a few minor marks (we don't feel they detract), her paintwork has great finish, looking really bright finished in her Snowberry White and it's good to see her brightwork remains good the car finished with lovely set of off-white wheels, tyres showing great tread, 5mm all round. This Traveller remains in lovely overall condition, a great useable example, that can be enjoyed and shown with pride.
Often a weak point on many Morris Minor Travellers the woodwork has been replaced by frame supplied by ALT Timber Fabrications, Wales. We've offered close up photos to show just how good this is and it should remain so for years to come if cared for as previous owners have. On opening the doors / tailgate, the driver and passengers are met with a highly original interior too, in wonderful condition, the carpets appear a recent addition and are superb, we love the stainless steel sill guards and although hidden very well (open the glovebox to reveal) the car has even had a radio fitted too.....although untested by us. For a relatively small car, prospective buyers are often left surprised with just how much interior space there is, the boot especially....perfect for picnics and weekends away and the keen of eye will have spotted that this Morris Minor Traveller benefits from both front and rear inertia seat-belts too!
Mechanically in good order and having traveled less than 10,000 miles in the last 20 years this Traveller is joy. With the smallest amount of 'choke' needed on start-up the 1098cc engine starts easily, thanks in part to an electronic ignition upgrade and pulls sweetly through all gears and this Traveller will happily sing along down country lanes, the exhaust giving its unique 'waspy' rasp during gear-changes. With a nice history file, 36 previous MOT's, invoices for circa £6k and some modern upgrades she's just a sweet Traveller and ahead of delivery / collection to her new owner we'll naturally have our engineer carry out our detailed 'Health Check', service as necessary and despite being MOT exempt we'll ensure she comes with a new MOT, great peace-of-mind for her new keeper too!
A delight to drive, she looks great and well cared for too; this Morris Minor Traveller is easy to maintain and being fully serviced and MOT'd ahead of sale this gem offers a wonderful opportunity to enjoy classic British motoring, at a competitive price and we feel that if you see her, you'll fall in love with this little gem too.
