Our private client is looking to employ a House Butler for a formal residence in the centre of London. Candidates must have former UHNW private residence experience.

This is a London based role, however the Principal may request assistance internationally from time to time (approx 2/3 times per year for short duration). Valid passport required.
Full UK driving license not essential but beneficial. No formal driving duties however ad hoc errands required from time to time.
The successful candidate would be joining a long standing/well-established, friendly, professional, and fully staffed team.
The House Butler would be assisting the House Manager. The House Butler would manage the residence when the House Manager is off duty.
Weekends required and on rotation with the House Manager.

Duties and responsibilities include:

Utmost discretion and confidentiality
Service of meals and snacks throughout the Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Ability to prepare light meals and snacks for the Principal when requested.
Maintenance and cleaning of silver cutlery and silver in the house.
Keeping accurate stock of silver, Chinaware, crystal and wine cellar.
Knowledge and care for the fine antiques and works of art.
Running personal errands for the Principal and family.
Ensuring the upkeep of 5* standards within the residence.
Assisting the House Manager in checking the work of other staff member.
Packing for the Principal in preparation for travel.
Confidence in liaising with maintenance teams and making sure all the home is well maintained and serviced while the House Manager is off duty.
Tech savy and able to assist in a modern and technological household
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Meeting and greeting guests of the Principal and scheduling meetings, bookings, reservations and appointments for the Principal.
Assisting the House Manager and security staff to ensure the safety and security of the Principal, family and residence is at the highest levels at all times.
Organising and serving at invited breakfast, lunches, dinners and drinks parties hosted by the principal.
Flower arranging and table decorations.
Confident in different methods of dinner service (butler service/plated/buffet etc).
Very smartly presented and well mannered (uniform provided).
Minor valeting duties – care of clothing and polishing shoes.
Ability to correctly pair food with appropriate wine choices.

Working schedules and salary:

5 days a week, 2 weekend per month in rotation with the House Manager

Usual shifts would be 10 hours between the times of 8am and 8pm within normal daily operations. For breakfast events or dinner parties this can fall out with these times.

Salary £55,000 to £60,000 gross per year. 28 holidays including bank holidays
